 Biography

Jane Bruno has been helping Americans overseas with tax problems for 20 years. She is trained as a lawyer with a J.D. from the University of South Carolina Law School and a Master’s in Taxation from George Washington University School of Law. Jane has worked with tax and accounting businesses in the U.S. as well as advising taxpayers while working with the Internal Revenue Service’s regional office at the U.S. Embassy in Bonn, Germany.

Jane has had the opportunity to experience first-hand the stresses and joys of living overseas. She and her family lived in Nigeria, Germany, and South Africa where she offered her tax services to the expat community. While in South Africa, she started work on her book, “The Expat’s Guide to U.S. Taxes,” which is updated every year and is now in its 10th edition. In addition, Jane has written a number of tax articles for Internet and print publications—all with a goal of educating taxpayers about their tax responsibilities as well as taking the mystery out of the tax process so compliance will not be so difficult.
